Sisterhood of World Bloggers Award

This award is used to connect women bloggers all over the world. It acknowledges that we all have unique voices and that they deserve to be heard.

We were nominated by the lovely Paranoid Puppet @ The Inside Mind of a Paranoid Puppet.

Like all award tags, this one has specific rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their website.
2. Put the award logo on your blog to show that you are now part of the sisterhood.
3. Answer the ten questions from the blogger who nominated you.
4. Nominate ten bloggers.
5. Write ten questions for your nominees to answer.

1.  What's your favorite book and why?

My favorite book of ALL TIME has to be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling.

1. The Harry Potter series is really the reason I got into reading. I thought that if an orphan who lived underneath the stairs can save the world, then I certainly could too.
2. This series showed me that magic is REAL! Maybe not in the sense of spells and potions, but magic is definitely real through love, friendship, and bravery.
3. The series, particularly Deathly Hallows, showed me that not every book can have a happy ending, but every ending can be made happy. I would not call the ending of Deathly Hallows "happy," but the characters were determined to pick up the pieces of their broken world to ensure a happy ending.

2.  How did you start reading?

I started reading way day in the day with my LeapFrog tablet. For those of you who do not know what that is, you had a deprived childhood. Basically, it was a primitive tablet that you inserted special books into and it would read with you. There was this cool pen that would say any word on the page. Compared to technology today, it is like mud and a stick, but it helped me learn how to read.

3.  A book everybody loved and you didn't?

Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout
(The Lux series #4)

I did not even finish this book. Everyone raves about this series, so I had to try it. I loved Obsidian. I thought Onyx and Opal were okay, but nothing compared to the first. Kat infuriated me in Origin. She became one of those female main characters who relied on her love interest for EVERYTHING. She was so strong-willed and amazing in the first book. Then, she must have been brainwashed or something, because she was never the same stubborn Kat again. I was also a bit tired of the romance. There was all of this build-up, but the climax lacked the sparks it should have had.

4.  A book everybody hated and you didn't?

Allegiant by Veronica Roth
(Divergent #3)

Even though the ending made me extremely sad, I respect Roth for doing what she felt was right for her characters. I would rather have a tough ending then a fake one. I actually thought that the ending was very true to the story.

Also, I liked the rest of the book. There was a lot of information thrown out, but I loved the revelations it caused. I was happy to finally know the How? and Why? for everything.

5. What's the biggest book you have ever read?

Goodreads is telling me Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoneix by J.K. Rowling with 870 pages.

6.  Favorite comic?

Honestly, I do not read a lot of comics.

7. Favorite comic hero?

I have to go with Captain America. And no, Chris Evans has nothing to do with it.

8. Favorite comic Villain?

Loki. Yes, Tom Hiddleston does influence my answer.

9.  Best series you've ever read so far?

Since I thought it would be cheating to use Harry Potter as three of my answers, I am going with the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series by Laini Taylor.

I love how Taylor make her own, unique and twisted take on the popular topic of angels and demons. She really made me think about the difference between right and wrong, especially when everyone has something to lose.

10. Do you like classics?

YES! I love how classics can transcend time and be applicable hundreds of years later. Whenever I read a classic I feel as if I am travelling in time to listen to the story of an author who has long since died. Even though they are no longer in this world, their words live on.
I particularly like anything by Jane Austen, especially Pride and Prejudice. I think that every male love interest should have a little bit of Darcy in him.

  1. Awe, thank you so much for the nomination!! I didn't hate Allegiant either, sure I cried like a baby, but I think that the ending fit with Tris' personality, you know? That was who she was, so although I wish it could have been different, I understand it.

    1. You are welcome! I cannot wait to see your answers.
I do agree with your thoughts about Allegiant. I wish there was a different ending, but then it would not be the same book.

  2. No.1 answer approved! Harry Potter all the way<3 *high five*
I guess I had a deprived childhood LOL
I liked Origin, but Opposition was I don't know...the huge build up ended like meh...I came off more confused after reading the book.
I agree on Allegiant! It hit me in a more deeper, emotional level than most of the YA books I read.
If every male love interest was exactly like Darcy, it would be a dream come true. A true gentleman there! <3
    Very nice answers!
Thank You for nominating me!!! Now, I'll just go and work on my post :)

    1. I am glad that I did not read Opposition. There have been many mixed reviews and I just feel like I would be wasting my time by reading it.
I cannot wait to read your answers!

  5. I don't even think LeapFrog tablets were around when I was a kid, but I would have wanted one if they were.

What other classics do you like? I haven't really come across other bloggers who have posted something about it so I'm a little curious.

    1. Honestly, I am still new to the world of classics. I really liked The Odyssey and I am trying to read Gone With the Wind, but I haven't had the time to finish. It is hard for me to find time to read classics when so many newer books are calling my name!
